People ask us this at almost every event, so it’s worth answering properly: why organize a business network around Latin and Asian professionals, and then tell everyone they’re welcome regardless of background?
Two communities that rarely share a room
Los Angeles has enormous Latin and Asian business communities. Both are entrepreneurial, both are family-driven, both punch well above their weight in small business ownership. And they mostly operate in parallel — separate chambers, separate associations, separate rooms. There’s no structural reason for that. It’s just how the networks grew up.
The opportunities sitting in the gap between those two communities are real. A contractor on one side and a developer on the other. An importer and a distributor. A CPA who understands one community’s businesses and a room full of the other’s.
Shared experience, different perspective
What we noticed early is how much overlap there is in the actual experience of building a business here — the family expectations, the first-generation pressure, the code-switching, the relationships that matter more than the contracts. Those things translate instantly across both communities.
But the industries, the networks, and the ways of doing business differ enough that introductions are genuinely valuable. That combination — familiar enough to trust quickly, different enough to be useful — is rarer than it sounds, and it’s what makes the room work.
So why is it open to everyone?
Because a network that excludes people isn’t a network, it’s a club. Our focus is Latin and Asian professionals — that’s who we build for and who we go out of our way to serve. But if you want to do business with this community, you’re welcome at the table. Plenty of our best members and sponsors don’t fit either category, and the room is better for it.
What we’re building next
Monthly events are the foundation. On top of that we’re adding workshops and classes, a mentorship program pairing established owners with people earlier in the journey, and a member directory so the network keeps working between events.
